The Matthews Opera House & Arts Center hosts musicians, Hank Harris and Matt Berry, at 7:30p.m., Friday, Sept. 22. This is the kick-off event of the 2017-18 Subscription Series season at The Matthews. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for youth (18 and under) and BHSU students. A two-time inductee of South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Hank Harris is a singer-songwriter and a photographer who calls the Black Hills home. His music style incorporates elements of folk, blues, country, reggae, jazz, gospel, and world music, creating a truly unique collection of songs that spans ten albums. Professional musician, Matt Berry, born and raised in Spearfish, SD and living in Nashville, TN., will join Hank Harris for a concert of new songs and old favorites.

“This concert, featuring two talented musicians with their roots in Spearfish and South Dakota, is a great way to kick-off our 2017-18 music season. Hank and Matt are musicians of the highest calibre. Both Hank Harris and Matt Berry have worked with many other talented musical groups and performers, which have served as influences throughout their musical careers. Hank Harris has recorded The Deadwood Songbook CD’s Volumes I and II for the Adams Museum in Deadwood and the matching South Dakota Public Broadcasting documentary/concert film of the same name.
